Built by a care business, for care businesses.

We didn't set out to build software. We set out to fix our own home care business and ended up creating the system we wished existed. This video tells that story.

The people behind Runwiz

Hi, we're the Runwiz team

We're not a faceless software company. We're the care managers, coordinators and operators who lived this problem every day, and decided to solve it properly. We bring together nearly five decades of hands-on experience across recruitment, operations and compliance so we understand the real-world pressures you face. Each of us comes at it from a different angle, but we're united by one goal to share what we've learned through software that helps care businesses achieve both their commercial and their social goals.

Our story

How we fixed our own business
and discovered ‘runs’.

2010 — 2012

We started CareService24 in 2010 as a recruitment agency in Dorset. In 2012 we registered with the CQC and launched domiciliary care — and quickly hit the problem every home care provider knows. A single carer might visit 10 clients and make 20 separate journeys in a day. Planning it all came down to logistics, and logistics nearly broke us.

2017 · 1,000 care hours a week

By 2017 we'd grown to 1,000 care hours a week, but it didn't feel like success. Rotas were rebuilt from memory every week. Coordinators burned out and left, taking the knowledge with them. Carers spent half their day in the car. And we never really knew if a run made money until payroll landed.

The breakthrough

So we pulled the whole service apart and rebuilt it logically. Grouping clients and visits into tight, location-based blocks. That's when we found ‘runs’ — a cluster of nearby visits that could be templated and handed to any carer who fit. It changed everything.

“We weren't scheduling hundreds of individual visits any more. We were managing a handful of runs.”

2019 · 2,000 care hours a week

We built Runwiz to do it automatically. Within a year the business doubled to 2,000 care hours a week. Calmer days, lower mileage and, for the first time, real control over our numbers.

That's the shift we want to give you. From chaos to control.
